The railway services have been affected due to heavy rain in Mumbai. Also, Govt offices are informed to shut early.

As heavy rains hit Mumbai on Wednesday, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde ordered that government offices in Mumbai and the surrounding region close early.

The order was issued after many local trains were delayed owing to severe rains, and the administration wanted employees to arrive home on time.

Heavy rain in Mumbai:

Rains in Mumbai have hampered vehicle and train traffic in the region, with numerous trains on the Central Line only running up to Thane and Dombivli on Wednesday afternoon due to a point failure at Kalyan and floods between the Ambernath and Badlapur sections.

Rain affects the railway service:

According to an official statement, train services on the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT)-Belapur route were operating. However, many Central Railway commuters reported that trains ran 10 to 15 minutes late.

The motion of trains on the Western railway has also been affected by the city’s major rainstorm during the last two days.

“Kind attention: Train No. 19218 Veraval – Bandra Terminus Saurashtra Janta Express of 19.07.2023 has been rescheduled to depart 2 hours late from Veraval at 13.50 hrs instead of its scheduled time of 11.50 hrs due to washout,” the Western Railway stated in a statement on Wednesday afternoon.
