But how did the journey start?
It all started when Mr. Vaibhav Kakkar started blogging on
his channel Course Dekho in 2013. Vaibhav mentions how blogging has shown him
the path to a great career.
He was always a digital enthusiast and blogging helped him
to channelize all his energy into creating content that helped thousands to
learn about different courses and job opportunities available in the web space.
Course Dekho was an affiliate channel that catered to big
brands and helped in lead generation and affiliate marketing strategies. At the
same time, it helped online users to know about different courses and fields
they could opt for in their careers.
“It is a completely wrong notion that you have to invest a
lot to start blogging or start your first venture. You don’t. All you need is
the determination to write and generate content. And that too consistently. I
regularly created content and blogged a lot. That helped me immensely by giving
me visibility on search engines.”
It was in 2015 that I realized it was time to launch my
professional course and IIM SKILLS happened. IIM SKILLS was a venture which was
entirely content-based and with an initial investment of just Rs 3000. It might
seem like I am exaggerating but that is the truth.” Vaibhav Kakkar added.
As an online platform today, IIM SKILLS makes around $1
million. In the next 3 years, IIM SKILLS is planning to launch around 5 new
courses in different fields like Artificial Intelligence, Finance, and
Technology.
“Our aim would be to increase our revenue to $5 million. All
of this has been possible only due to blogging. If I can do it, so can you. But
yes, I have worked very hard and that is one area you cannot cheat in. Invest
your time into choosing a great niche, create a blog, consistently generate reliable,
original, and valuable content. And then see the results, the possibilities are
endless.” he signs off.
