Three cities, three lessons: A Journey of growth across borders.

How Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Dubai shaped one Woman’s life.

Moving to new cities often brings challenges, but for Thejaswini Reddy, each relocation became a chapter of personal transformation. From childhood in Bengaluru to independence in Hyderabad and professional resilience in Dubai, her journey highlights how places can profoundly shape identity.

Bengaluru: Opening the World

Born in a small village in Andhra Pradesh, Reddy moved to Bengaluru at the age of 10. Transitioning from a Telugu‑medium school to a cosmopolitan city was eye‑opening. Surrounded by diverse languages and cultures, she discovered a world far larger than her village. Bengaluru became her first teacher, showing her how exposure to different people and ideas can broaden horizons and instil confidence.

Hyderabad: Learning Independence

Her next milestone came with a job opportunity in Hyderabad. Unlike many of her peers, she had never lived in a hostel during college, so this move marked her first experience of independent living. In Hyderabad, she embraced everyday responsibilities- shopping for groceries, joining a gym, and managing household chores. These seemingly routine tasks taught her self‑reliance and discipline. For Reddy, Hyderabad introduced her to “adulting,” helping her navigate life on her own terms.

Dubai: Discovering Networking

At 31, Reddy made her boldest move yet- leaving a secure job in India to relocate to Dubai with her husband. The transition was difficult; despite applying to countless positions, she faced repeated rejections. Her breakthrough came not through applications but through a professional connection she had nurtured years earlier. That moment revealed the true power of networking. Dubai taught her that opportunities often arise from relationships, underscoring the importance of building and maintaining connections.

Lessons That Last

Reflecting on her journey, Reddy summed it up: Bengaluru expanded her worldview, Hyderabad taught her independence, and Dubai revealed the value of networking. Her story resonated widely online, with many users agreeing that moving cities profoundly changes a person. Comments celebrated her insights, noting that “every city teaches you something new” and that “networking really can open unexpected doors.”

The Broader Message

Reddy’s reflections show that cities are more than places- they are teachers. Each environment brought unique lessons that shaped her resilience, independence, and professional outlook. Her journey reminds us that growth often comes from stepping outside one’s comfort zone and embracing the challenges of change.
