U.S. Election 2020: I’m not considering a vaccine if Donald Trump tells us we must take it, says Kamala Harris.

On Wednesday night in Salt Lake City, Utah, U.S. Vice President Mike Pence and Democratic vice-presidential candidate Kamala Harris kicked off their first and only debate, which also marked the debut of a person of Indian descent on the vice presidential debate podium.

The debate was modded by Susan Page of USA Today, who said the format of the debate would include nine 10-minute sections, with time for each candidate to ask questions.

A substantial part of the debate was dominated by discussion about the current pandemic and an appropriate vaccine against Covid-19. If the public health experts, if Dr Fauci, if the doctors order us to take it, I’m going to be the first to take it, absolutely, in line.

But if Donald Trump tells us that we should take it, I’m not going to take it,’ Kamala Harris said in disapproval as the issue of the vaccine came up.

Here are the top quotes from the first discussion of Kamala Harris’

1. In our country’s history, the American people have experienced the greatest embarrassment of any presidential administration. Whatever vice president says the administration has done, if you look at over 210,000 dead bodies in our country, it obviously has not succeeded.

2. They knew what was going on (Coronavirus) and didn’t tell you about it. They knew that and they were covering it up. They said they wouldn’t tell you as they wanted the President to keep Americans calm. Tell me now how calm you were when your kids were sent off.

3. In sharing both health and tax data, we believe in accountability. It’ll be nice to know who owes money to President Donald Trump. Americans should know what is affecting their choices.

4. Joe and I share a desire to uplift the American people. We have been brought up with the same beliefs. When I received a call from him, it was the best day of my life.

5. Joe Biden claims that the welfare of American workers should be determined by the health of the economy. But Donald Trump thought that the economy ought to be measured by how wealthy people are. Joe will invest in technology, education, infrastructure, clean energy, etc. He believes in investing in the American people.

6. Joe Biden is never going to increase taxes. He was really clear about it. It was Biden’s duty to get America back from the Recession.

7. If the public health experts, if Dr Fauci, if the doctors advise us that we can take it, I’m going to be the first to take it, completely, in line. But if Donald Trump tells us that we have to take it, I’m not going to take it.

8. Donald Trump has been betraying alliances and welcoming the world’s dictators. Take Russia, for instance.

9. In particular, Joe and I are proud of the alliance we have developed around our campaign. Our campaign is endorsed by seven members of George W Bush’s cabinet. They do it because they realize it Joe Biden is struggling for honesty.
