On Tuesday, Rekha Sharma, the National Commission for Women (NCW) head. Called for strict action against actor Siddharth for his offensive slur on Olympian Saina Nehwal.

It is worth noting that Siddharth has not apologized for his remark, instead emphasizing. That he did not mean to be “disrespectful.” However, the NCW president has drawn attention to the fact that the same actor made similar comments about women in the media for the second time. Sharma, who was outraged by his actions, stated that she would continue to monitor the situation until an FIR is filed against Siddharth and he is arrested.

Soon after Siddharth made his remarks on Twitter, Sharma chastised him and demanded strict action against him.

According to a press release issued by NCW, “The National Commission for Women discovered a post on Twitter by Indian actor Siddharth making lewd comments on Ms. Saina Nehwal’s post.

The comment is misogynist and offensive to a woman’s modesty, amounting to disrespect and insult to women’s dignity on social media platforms. Chairperson Rekha Sharma has written to the Director-General of Police Maharashtra requesting. That the matter be investigate immediately, and applicable laws register an FIR.”

Previously, Nehwal, the target of Siddharth’s alleged sexist remarks, responded by saying she wasn’t sure what he meant. The Olympian told Republic TV exclusively that she liked the Rang De Basanti actor, but the latest remark against her was ‘not nice.’

According to the badminton player, Siddharth could have used a better choice of words to express himself. But he said, “I guess it’s Twitter, and you get noticed with such words and comments. Despite the backlash caused by Siddharth’s ‘crass’ remarks, the actor issued an apology on Twitter.
