Zara’s Barbie Collection: a great marketing move

Zara’s Barbie Collection: a great marketing move

The hype of the Barbie movie has reached a new heights. And the Zara’s Barbie collection has been a great marketing move by the fashion brand.

The famous styles of Barbie have already found their way to the big screen in Greta Gerwig’s latest feature film, and then onto the real-life red carpet, with Margot Robbie looking stunning in iconic Barbie-inspired outfits by Chanel, Prada, Valentino, and Schiaparelli.

With a collection from the all-powerful Inditex, the Barbie craze is making it more into the mainstream fashion field.

Zara’s Barbie collection:

Zara launched a capsule collection filled with pink, gold, and glitter looks on Monday, July 17. The collection is inspired by the movie’s colourful themes and famous appearance.

Inspired by Barbie and Ken, the collection has clothes, accessories, pyjamas, beauty products, and home accessories such as mugs, straws, candles, mirrors, keychains, notebooks, and lunch boxes for both men and women.

The new Collection by Zara:

A white and pink gingham strapless midi wear with an apparent 1950s effect, a silver mermaid-effect sequin dress, a variety of garments featuring the obvious Barbie logo, a wide range of denim looks and denim-inspired pieces (including a version prompted by Ken played by Ryan Gosling), and a large light pink leather ‘B’ shaped shopper bag are among the standout fashion pieces. The series will come in a variety of Colours.

The new pop-up stores in Paris:

Zara has opened two pop-up stores in addition to the collection’s online and select physical store releases, which will run until July 30.

The temporary spaces, located at Zara’s flagship store on the Champs-Élysées in Paris, which opened only last April, and in SoHo, New York, have been developed by Random Studio to change the entrances into “Barbie’s dream house.”

The pop-up stores, which include life-sized sets from Barbie’s universe in the movie, also have screens that broadcast scenes, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in Barbie’s world. Visitors can also enjoy themed dressing rooms and a vending machine.
