Nokia G21 review: HMD Global’s latest budget phone starts at Rs 12,999. But is the performance good enough for the price?
If there is a constant trend over the past three years, then the price of smartphones continues to rise. According to various research reports, just think of the Redmi Note series – one of the most popular in India. While they start at Rs 9,999 till 2019, most of the options now start at Rs 15,000 more. And that goes for most brands. So if you want better specs, be prepared to pay more.
But brands like Nokia HMD Global are still offering devices in the Rs 12,000 to 15,000 segment. The latest Nokia G21 is one such option with a starting price of Rs 12,999. But does it offer good enough performance without too many compromises? Here’s our review.

They say no judge a book by its cover. Maybe the smartphone world is all about specs.
When I first used the Nokia G21, I didn’t expect much performance, but it does a great job. The company sent me the 6GB RAM option for review. It handles games like Asphalt 9 and Sky effortlessly without any noticeable stutter or lag.
The phone is also available with a 5050mAh battery with 18W charging. The size of the battery means the device can last all day with heavy use. The problem is that HMD Global ships a 10W charger in the box. So be prepared to spend three hours charging this device to 100 percent.
