UGC directs universities to take an active role in the campaign.

The UGC issued a notice on Thursday directing universities also their affiliated institutions to participate in the campaign. To mark the 75th anniversary India’s independence, the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign is being hold in conjunction with the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

The central government’s ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign’ has gained widespread popularity across the country. As a consequence, the University Grants Commission, UGC. Issued a notice on Thursday directing universities also their affiliated institutions to participate in the campaign.

The UGC start that the National Flag should be made of hand spun and hand woven cotton/polyester/wool/silk khadi bunting or machine-made cotton/polyester/wool/silk khadi bunting. Also requested that all universities distribute these instructions to students, teachers, and other members.

The UGC issued the instructions with the request that “all Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs).

Also their affiliated colleges/institutions widely disseminate the above information among their faculty members, students, staff, and stakeholders while celebrating the upcoming Independence Day and after that.”

UGC chairman M Jagadesh Kumar requested that students from Higher Education Institutions. And HEIs also upload selfies with the National Flag and post them on the official website, harghartiranga.com. The chairman’s video was share on Twitter by UGC.

According to UGC’s official notification: “As you are aware. The ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ (AKAM) is being hold to commemorate the 75th anniversary of progressive independent India. Under the auspices of AKAM, the ‘Har Ghar Trianga’ campaign has been launch to encourage citizens to display the Indian National Flag in their homes. The Flag Code of India, 2o2. Also the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act, 1971 govern the display/hoisting/use of the Indian National Flag.”
