Actor Kamaal R Khan is Arrested for a Controversial Tweet; new information
Rashid Khan, a self-proclaimed film critic, Actor Kamaal R Khan Aka KRK, was arrested by Mumbai police in 2020 for his controversial tweet. KRK is a controversial figure known for mocking Bollywood celebrities and their films in tweets and videos on his YouTube channel.
According to the news agency ANI, KRK, who lives in Dubai, was arrest after landing at Mumbai airport. He will appear in court today in Borivali.
KRK recently made headlines when he claimed actress Anushka Sharma was to blame for cricketer husband Virat Kohli’s depression. He wrote in a tweet that Anushka must have “put in his head” that he’s depress because he’s the first Indian cricketer to admit to having depression. He later deleted the tweet after receiving a massive backlash on social media.
KRK caused a stir on social media earlier this year when he announced the release of Deshdrohi 2. A self-proclaimed blockbuster that will allegedly be “bigger than Bahubali. Fourteen years ago, the first Deshdrohi film was release (and bomb). The poster for Deshdrohi 2 shows KRK in all his glory, dressed in a black ensemble.
According to the poster, the film was “directed by KRK produce by KRK” and stars KRK.
Jagdish A Sharma directed, and KRK produced the first Deshdrohi film. The film also starred Manoj Tiwari, Hrishitaa Bhatt, Gracy Singh, and Zulfi Syed, in addition to the actor. The film focused on the difficulties that immigrants face in Mumbai.
An FIR was also file at the time for KRK’s derogatory remarks. “We have register an FIR against Kamaal R Khan for making derogatory remarks about both the decease actors under section 294 (punishment for obscene acts or words in public) and other provisions of the IPC,” an official was quote as saying by PTI.
