The death of Sonali Phogat has been turn over to the CBI, according to Goa’s chief minister, in response to mounting pressure.

In response to mounting pressure, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announce on Monday that the case involving the death of BJP leader Sonali Phogat would be turn over to the CBI. He emphasised that the family of the late BJP leader and the Haryana government had made persistent demands in this regard.

“We have turned over the Sonali Phogat death investigation to the CBI. We are handing it over to the central agency because we have received consistent demands from Haryana and her family, Sawant explained. “I will write to Union Home Minister Amit Shah about this later today,” he said.

Sonali Phogat, an actor-politician from Haryana, was discover dead in Goa last month. Even though a heart attack was said to be the initial cause of death, her family claim foul play. Later, an investigation into drug overdose deaths was launch.

The Goa Police Department opened a murder investigation after a post-mortem examination revealed “blunt force injury” to her body. According to the police, Phogat was “forcefully drug by her two associates. Following that, several arrests were made in the case.

On Sunday, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar stated. The case would be turn over to the central investigation agency if the family was not satisfy. We had requested a CBI investigation in writing. But they stated that the Goa police would complete their own investigation first. If the family is not satisfy, the investigation will be hand over to the News,” he was quote as saying by news agency news.
