Kanye West to run for US Presidential Elections in 2020.

Kanye West will face insurmountable hurdles in a bid to become The President of the USA.

On late Saturday night, Kanye West announced on his Twitter that he will be gunning to become the next US President when the elections are held in late 2020. It is, however, still not clear if the star musician is serious, or this has been done for a project unrelated to the presidency, or just for a cheap publicity stunt.

The tweet went viral instantly with more than 100,000 retweets in the first hour itself, and “Kanye” became the number one trending term in the US. West has more than 29.3 million followers on his social media account. In his tweet he wrote,” We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for president of the United States #2020VISION.”

A tough ride for Kanye West:

West’s bid to become the next President of the USA, comes with its set of insurmountable hurdles, including to kick start an election campaign from scratch in the July of the election year. Kanye, without any support of a party infrastructure, will also have to build a presidential-grade political organization as well as get qualification for ballot access across 50 states and the District of Columbia. At present, Kanye West has yet not filled the forms with the Federal Election Commission to run for the Presidency.

Kanye has been vocal of his desire to run for the Presidency for years, and last year he expressed to an audience how he wants to contest polls in 2024. It seems that the netizens have welcomed this decision with open arms; many have started supporting the 43-year-old musician.

Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla Inc., responded to Kanye’s tweet, by saying,” You have my full support!”
