Mamata Banerjee meets Bihar CM Nitish Kumar; Read report

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar met West Bengal counterpart Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata on Monday.

During the meeting, the Bihar Chief Minister was accompanied by his deputy Tejashwi Yadav, to forge a united opposition alliance against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

The three leaders held a joint press conference following the meeting, stating that the conversations were productive.

“We have had discussions, particularly about bringing all parties together and making all necessary preparations for the upcoming Parliament elections.” Whatever is done next will be in the best interests of the country.

Those who currently rules have nothing to do. They are simply doing their publicity. “Nothing is being done for the country’s development,” claimed Bihar’s chief minister.

“I have only made one request to Nitish Kumar.” The movement of Jayaprakash ji began in Bihar. We can decide where to go next if we hold an all-party meeting in Bihar.

But first and foremost, we must convey a message of unity. I already stated that I had no issues. I want the BJP to go to zero.

They have become a great hero because of the media’s encouragement and lies,” Mamata Banerjee remarked.

“We’ll go together.” We have no personal egos, and we want to work collaboratively,” she added.

Nitish Kumar and Tejashwi Yadav slated to visit Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav in Lucknow at 5 p.m. as part of efforts to form a united opposition for the 2024 general elections.

In the capital, the meeting comes just days after Nitish Kumar met with Rahul Gandhi and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge.

“We will try to unite as many political groups as we can and move forward together,” Nitish stated at a press conference after the meeting.
