Cockroach Janta Party Founder Assaulted on Camera at Jaipur Protest

Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke was assaulted on camera during a protest in Jaipur on Monday, when at least two individuals slapped and hit him repeatedly in full public view. The incident has drawn widespread attention, given that Dipke and his movement have consistently advocated non-violent demonstrations.

Protest Against NEET Leaks and Education Crisis

The CJP, which began as a satirical political outfit, organised the demonstration at Shaheed Smarak in Jaipur to protest against NEET paper leaks, systemic failures in education, and rising unemployment. The protest was part of a nationwide campaign launched during a Delhi demonstration on June 6, where the party had given Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan a one-week ultimatum to resign or face similar protests across the country.

Video footage circulating online shows Dipke being carried on supporters’ shoulders when a man grabbed him by a cloth around his neck. The attacker and an accomplice then slapped and struck the CJP founder before being pulled away and confronted by Dipke’s supporters.

Six Detained as Police Launch Investigation

Authorities detained six individuals, who are currently being questioned at Vidhayakpuri police station. Police stated that the identities of the accused and their motives are still under investigation.

Responding on X, Dipke remained defiant, stating that physical attacks reflect “fear and cowardice” and reaffirming his commitment to peaceful protest. He invoked the legacies of Gandhi and Ambedkar, and reiterated his demand for the Education Minister’s resignation.
