Gary Geaves, who served as Apple’s Vice President of Acoustics for nearly 13 years, is stepping down, paving the way for Ruchir Dave to assume leadership.

Meet Ruchir Dave: A Veteran Apple Insider:

Ruchir Dave brings over 14 years of experience at Apple to his new role as head of the Acoustics division. After graduating from a college in Gujarat, Dave joined Apple in 2009. 

He steadily climbed the ranks, serving in various capacities within the Acoustics Engineer team before his recent appointment as Vice President.

Professional Journey and Gujarat Connection:

Before joining Apple, Ruchir Dave spent almost a decade at Cisco, honing his expertise in engineering. His educational journey took him through Sharadmandir, Ahmedabad, and Lalbhai Dalpatbhai College of Engineering, Ahmedabad, before pursuing further studies at Penn State University.

Apple’s hardware team, comprising around 300 employees, drives innovation in the company’s audio product lineup, including HomePod, AirPods, and speakers. 

With a focus on sound and microphone technologies, this team remains pivotal in delivering the high-quality audio experience synonymous with Apple products.
