A piece of basic information on how to protect yourself from online banking fraud, with fake bank sites and secure your bank accounts.

Online banking has grown in the last 2/3 years; everyone knows how to use it. An illiterate person also knows how to use Google Pay, Phone Pay, UPI or online money transfer. 

With the advent of digital banking and the widespread use of technology, online banking has become a convenient and popular way for individuals and businesses to manage their finances.

However, the lurking threat of online bank fraud comes along with the benefits of online banking.

Scammers of Online banking fraud, with fake bank sites:

Online banking frauds are at their peak nowadays; scammers have found several ways to trick you and transfer all your money into their bank account in a few seconds. 

They have made several links, which look similar to your Banks official links, and once you click on the link, congratulations, your account is empty with zero bank balance. 

While surfing on the internet, we came across an image. This image shows a minor difference between the original bank link and the link by the scammer.

As you can see in the above picture, the minor difference between the letter (a) in the original link and the link from the hacker. Be aware of such links and the emails you open.

Is there any solution for all this? Like how to protect yourself from such online frauds.

Tips to protect your bank accounts from such frauds:

1) To create a strong password: Avoid using easily guessable information such as birthdays or names. Use a combination of letters, numbers, and special characters as your ATM pin password.

2) Secure Devices and Networks: Always make sure that the devices you use for online banking, such as your computer, smartphone, or tablet, have up-to-date security software installed, including antivirus and anti-malware programs.

3) Secure Banking Apps and Websites: Only use authorized banking applications or enter the bank’s website URL directly into your browser to access your online banking accounts. Clicking on links in emails or text messages can take you to fake websites created to steal your personal data.

4) Stay Informed and Educated: Stay updated on the latest scams, fraud techniques, and security best practices.

5) Safeguard Personal Information: Be cautious about sharing personal information online. Avoid sharing sensitive details on social media platforms or with untrusted sources.
