The new Reliance Jio Phone in Rs 999, buzzing

The new Reliance Jio phone has been launched at the price range of ₹999.

Reliance has announced the launch of their internet-enabled 4G mobile phone at ₹999. As part of its ‘2G-Mukt Bharat’ goal, the company said Jio Bharat V2 phones will equip 250 million mobile subscribers who are still on 2G technology.

Reliance claimed that the Jio Bharat phone has a 30% cheaper plan and seven times more data than other mobile service providers’ feature phones.

“There are still 250 million mobile-phone users in India who are ‘trapped’ in the 2G era, unable to access basic internet features at a time when the world is on the verge of a 5G revolution,” Reliance Jio chairman Akash Ambani said in a statement.

“When Jio was launched six years ago, we made it clear that Jio would go to any length to democratise the internet and bring the benefits of technology to every Indian.” “Technology will no longer be a privilege reserved for a select few,” Ambani continued.

From July 7, the company will begin beta testing for the first one million Jio Bharat phones. The trial will take place in 6,500 tehsils across India. The company intends to ensure the platform’s and processes’ scalability for upgrading millions of feature phone customers.
