Two Children’s died in Chandipuram due to Sandfly in the last 15 days.

Monsoon Season 2021: Due to the current monsoon season, the Chandipuram virus is spreading in the villages due to the presence of sand bees in the damp mud walls of houses. This virus originates from Chandipur village in Maharashtra. Sandfly spreads the Chandipuram virus.

It can fly up to 2 to 3 feet. This white sand fly bites a 0 to 14-year-old child, becoming unconscious after fever and convulsions. In the last 15 days in Panchmahal, two children were killed when Chandipuram hit them. 

The death of two children from the Chandipuram: virus in Samli Betia of Godhra taluka and Sansoli village of Kalol taluka has caused a stir in the district health department.

A team from the health department reached Samli Betia and Sansoli and carried out surveillance of the team by spraying the drug and cracking the soil. A team from the health department found the case in both the villages. Not a single other Chandipuram symptom would have been found in all the health check-ups, including children, in the houses around that falia. Since there is no vaccine for this Chandipuram virus, caution is required.

Sandflies lay eggs in a clay wall: Sandflies are found in cracks in buildings. So that as a precautionary measure, cracks in raw and lined buildings should be filled. It also becomes necessary to dress the baby whole. It is also important to use mosquito nets while sleeping at night. Since no vaccine is available for Chandipuram, it is very important to take precautions. Melathine powder has been sprayed around Samli Betia and Sansoli villages.

Sandfly spreads Chandipuram virus. This bee is five times smaller than a normal bee but looks like a flying bee at home. Another peculiarity of this bee is that it moves barely five feet away from the egg after being turned into a bee. This bee lays most of its eggs in the cracks of raw houses. So melathine powder is further sprayed into the cracks in the walls to destroy the sandfly eggs.

Currently, 15 cases of simple malaria and six suspected dengue cases have been found in the district. The Chandipuram virus can be transmitted to children up to 14 years of age. In 24 to 72 hours, there is a high fever, cramps, then diarrhoea-vomiting starts. During this time, the child also becomes unconscious. If these symptoms appear in children, they should be treated immediately in a government hospital.
