Who killed Muktar Ansari’s associate Sanjeev alias Jeeva, 144 imposed in Kanpur

Following the shot death of gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari’s accomplice Sanjeev Maheshwari, alias Jeeva, at the Lucknow court premises, Uttar Pradesh police issued prohibitory orders in Kanpur prohibiting the gathering of more than four people. 

The Kanpur Additional Commissioner of Police stated that section 144 of the CrPC has been implemented throughout the district to secure law and order.

On Wednesday, Jeeva was murdered on the premises of the Lucknow Civil Court.

According to Lucknow District Magistrate Surya Pal Gangwar, the shooter involved in the courtroom incident was also critically hurt.

“Sanjeev alias Jeeva was shot dead, and a 1.5-year-old girl was also injured, but her condition is stable, and she is being treated.” “How many people came to kill him is under investigation, but the shooter has been apprehended, and he is also seriously injured,” Surya Pal Gangwar told ANI.

On Wednesday, an unidentified assailant dressed as a lawyer gunned down mobster Sanjeev Maheshwari, popular as Jeeva, in a Lucknow courtroom. 

Two police officers and an 18-month-old infant were also hurt during the courtroom shooting. 

The incident occurred immediately after Maheshwari, an aide to incarcerated gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari, was brought to the courtroom by police for participating in a murder case at about 4 p.m.

The assailant, identified as Vijay Yadav from Jaunpur’s Kerakat district, had disguised himself as a lawyer and had already taken his position inside the courtroom before Maheshwari’s arrival, according to Lucknow (West) Deputy Commissioner of Police Rahul Raj. Yadav opened fire, hitting the 48-year-old criminal with at least six rounds, killing him in the chest.

Sanjeev Maheshwari, commonly known as Jeeva, had a long history of criminal activity, with 26 complaints filed against him dating back to 1995. He was already serving a life sentence for his part in the 1997 murder of BJP politician Brahm Dutt Dwivedi.
