Millions of people have been recommended to stay at home as Storm Eunice, one of the bad storms to hit the UK in decades, approaches.

The Met Office has issued a second unusual red weather warning for London, the southeast, and the east of England. A red alert, denoting a danger to life from flying debris, has already been issue for parts of southwest England and south Wales.

Hundreds of schools will be close, all trains in Wales will be suspend, and the Army will be on alert. In addition, forecasters predict that Eunice will bring wind gusts of up to 90 miles per hour on Friday, causing significant disruption and power outages.

Storm Eunice is the UK’s second storm in a week, following Storm Dudley. Which battered parts of Scotland, northern England, and Northern Ireland, knocking out power to thousands of homes.

The Met Office across the UK has issued several weather warnings:

A red wind warning the most elevated level of alert is in effect along the coasts of Devon. Cornwall, Somerset, and south Wales from 07:00 GMT until 12:00 p.m. on Friday, with blows of up to 90 mph. In addition, from 10:00 to 15:00, a new red wind warning has been issue for London, the southeast, and parts of the east of England.

Wind gusts of up to 80 mph have been issue for all of England south of Manchester and Wales from 05:00 to 21:00. In addition, wind gusts of up to 70mph have been issue for the Midlands. North-east England, north-west England, parts of Northern Ireland, and parts of Scotland between 07:00 and 18:00.

From 06:00 to 18:00 on Saturday, a yellow wind warning is for London. The southeast of England, the southwest of England, Wales, and parts of the West Midlands.

Roofs could be blown off, power lines brought down, and trees uproot if a red weather warning is issue. As well as flying debris that could endanger lives.
