India’s Covid: The death toll rose to 528,857 after 10 fatalities were report in the last 24 hours, with Kerala accounting for three. Three new deaths occurred in Karnataka, with one each in Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and West Bengal.

The daily Covid-19 tally in India fell slightly on Friday, with 2,678 people testing positive for the virus. Down from 2,786 the day before, according to the health ministry’s morning bulletin. The country’s active caseload has reached 26,583, accounting for 0.06 per cent of the total of 44,623,997.

The death toll rose to 528,857 after 10 fatalities were report in the last 24 hours, with Kerala accounting for three. Three new deaths occurred in Karnataka, with one each in Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and West Bengal.

Fresh recoveries also showed a positive trend, with 2,594 recovering on Friday compared to 2,557 on Thursday. In India, the total number of patients who recovered from Covid-19 is now 4,40,68,557.

The recovery and death rates remain unchanged at 98.76% and 1.19%, respectively.

The health bulletin also stated that 5,93,963 people received Covid-19 vaccines in the previous 24 hours, bringing the total to 2,19,21,33,244. On January 25, this year, India surpassed the 4-crore mark in the cumulative Covid-19 tally.
