International flights might be possible before August as COVID-19 cases reach 125000.

Recovery rate keeps progressing as sample testing also increased; Death toll at 3720. 

India’s COVID-19 tally rose to 1,25,101 on Saturday as 6,654 fresh infections were reported with as many as 137 deaths in the last 24 hours, as per the Union Health Ministry’s data. This is a third consecutive day where 6000 plus cases were registered. 51,783 patients have recovered from Coronavirus, one person has migrated and the death toll stands at 3720 as India’s mortality rate dropped to 3.02%. The Coronavirus recovery rate has increased to 41% in India. Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) on Saturday announced the testing of 1,15,364 samples for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, which is a significant rise. So far, a total of 28,34,798 samples have been tested as per Indian Council Medical Research’s data, which shows progress. 

The worst affected state, Maharashtra, reported close to 3000 new cases with 63 causalities taking the state’s Coronavirus confirmed tally over 44,000. Tamil Nadu, the second most affected state, has a total of 14,753 infections with Gujarat cases reaching a tally of 13,268. 

As domestic flights start taking off on Monday, Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has said that we might start some international passenger flights before August, hinting that international travel is off the table in terms of the country’s current situation.

The government on Friday revealed that due to the heavy imposition of lockdown, India may have averted 37000-38000 fatalities and an estimated 14 to 29 Lakh people might have been infected.

On Friday, Brazil surpassed Russia with the second-highest number of infections in the world behind the United States. Coronavirus global tally reached 5.22 Million, with over 338000 patients dying.
