Kangana Ranaut shared the first teaser of Emergency

The first teaser trailer for Kangana Ranaut starrer Emergency has arrived. Her first directorial debut sees her play India’s first female Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi. 

Kangana took to Instagram to reveal the announcement of the film’s release date, which is November 24, 2023. 

The teaser of Emergency:

The film opens on June 25, 1975, with a state of anarchy as protestors raise a disturbance on the street, and it appears to be a newspaper cutout with the title “State of Emergency declared.” 

In Anupam Kher’s narration, we see him next behind bars with the tagline “Opposition leader arrested.” In the film, he portrays the late political leader Jayaprakash Narayan, JP Narayan. “Ye hamari nahi iss desh ki maut hai (This is not our death, but the death of the country),” he says.

Kangana shared the teaser of Emergency:

Following that, the trailer shows protestors being shot on the streets. “Iss tanasaahi ko rokna hoga (We must put an end to this dictatorship),” he adds. 

Kangana Ranaut’s voiceover as Indira Gandhi begins at this point, with her saying, “Mujhe iss desh ki raksha karne se koi nahi rok sakta (No one can stop me from protecting this country)” as her face comes on the screen. 

“Kyuki (because), Indira is Indira, and Indira is India!” The film’s title card displays, along with the film’s release date of November 24.

Kangana posted the announcement video on Instagram, saying, “A protector or a dictator?” Witness the darkest period in our history, when our country’s leader waged war on its people. #Emergency will be released internationally on November 24.”
