Kutchi Saraswat Brahmins migrated from Kashmir and Sindh. They are mainly called Maharaj or Maraj in Sindh Pakistan and now in Kutch Gujarat (Word Maharaj and Maraj are used from last 1200years in Sindh. This word is from Raja Dahir time. Due to Raja Dahir people for a long time called Brahmins as Maharaj or Maraj in Sindh and Kutch).
Kutchi Saraswat Brahmins is not a small community in Gujarat. Many groups live in Abdasa Kutch, Bhuj, Gandhidham, and other parts of Gujarat. Once upon a time, Raaj Jyotish of Kutch was a Saraswat Brahmin.
