Sai Sudharsan’s century gives RCB an unwanted IPL milestone

home side — RCB have now conceded the most individual centuries in IPL history, a record they would rather not hold.

RCB’s unwanted place in the record books

Sudharsan’s hundred — his third in the IPL and first of the 2026 season — pushed RCB’s tally of centuries conceded to 15, edging them past both Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians, who have each given away 14. Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad sit on 11, while Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings have conceded 10 apiece. For a team that lifted the IPL title as defending champions, the distinction is a particularly bitter one.

Sudharsan’s knock was anchored by a commanding 128-run opening stand alongside GT captain Shubman Gill. On the team news front, RCB handed a debut to English batter Jacob Bethell in place of injured Phil Salt, while Gujarat gave West Indian allrounder Jason Holder his first appearance of the season alongside the returning Manav Suthar.
