The 15-year-old prodigy’s anticipated T20I appearance in Ireland is under threat following a wave of community unrest in the country. Cricket Ireland has already cancelled the Inter-Provincial T20 Festival in Lisburn and is assessing the situation before making further decisions.

Cricket Ireland and BCCI on High Alert

Cricket Ireland confirmed in an official statement that it is closely monitoring the unrest and will decide within 48 hours on upcoming fixtures, including the Irish Senior Cup and National Cup. The board stressed that the safety of players, coaches, match officials, and supporters remains its top priority. Reports also indicate that the BCCI is tracking developments, with the possibility of shifting matches away from Belfast if conditions do not improve.

Sooryavanshi recently made history by becoming the youngest player named in an India T20I squad, surpassing Sachin Tendulkar’s long-standing record — a milestone that has sent excitement levels soaring across the country.

Sooryavanshi Impresses in Measured India A Outing

Currently part of the India A squad in Sri Lanka for a tri-series, Sooryavanshi showcased a different facet of his game against Afghanistan A. In contrast to his boundary-heavy IPL 2026 outings for Rajasthan Royals, the teenager played a composed 44 off 22 balls without a single six — demonstrating adaptability beyond the T20 format. India A, however, fell short in the contest despite his contribution.
