Surat: On Wednesday, the Gujarat Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) caught two cops personnel and their accomplice red-handed while taking a bribe of ₹63,000 at Hirabaug Police Chowki under Kapodra Police Station in Surat.

The Gujarat Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday arrested two police personnel and a civilian accomplice red-handed while accepting a ₹63,000 bribe at Hirabaug Police Chowki, under Kapodra Police Station in Surat.

The Accused

The arrested officials are:

  • Madhuben Amibhai Rabari – Woman Police Sub-Inspector
  • Navnitkumar Hamirbhai Jethva – Assistant Sub-Inspector
  • Man Singh Ramabhai Sisodia – Accomplice who collected the bribe

Case Background

The bribe was allegedly demanded in relation to a monetary dispute case registered at Kapodra Police Station, which was under investigation by PSI Madhuben Rabari, with ASI Navnitkumar Jethva assisting her.

According to the ACB, the officers pressured the complainant to return the disputed amount and demanded an additional ₹63,000 as a bribe to settle the case.

ACB Lays Trap After Complaint

Unwilling to comply, the complainant approached the Vadodara ACB office. A trap was set, during which:

  • Jethva demanded the bribe on Rabari’s behalf
  • He instructed the complainant to hand over the cash to Sisodia
  • Sisodia was caught red-handed accepting the money

Legal Action Underway

All three accused have been booked under the Prevention of Corruption Act, and further investigation is currently ongoing.
