Earlier in the day, a senior doctor who treated her at the Breach Candi Hospital said she was there in the intensive care unit (ICU) of Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital, according to Dr. Pratit Samdani, who is treating her.

In January, Mangeshkar was admitted to the hospital after being diagnosed with pneumonia and testing positive for the novel Coronavirus. She had been on the ventilator for a couple of weeks before being taken off on January 28 due to signs of improvement.

Hema Mangeshkar was born. An Indian playback singer as well as the occasional composer of music. She was widely regarded as one of India’s greatest and most respected playback singers. 

Her contributions to the Indian music industry have earned her titles like Nightingale of India and also the Queen of Melody.
