Gayatri Bhardwaj want to marry with Hrithik Roshan

Gayatri Bhardwaj dreamed of becoming Miss India since she was in pre-nursery. And her perseverance and hard work helped her win the title of Femina Miss India United Continents 2018. But her real struggle began after she won the crown when she had to decide what she wanted to do next and, more importantly, how she wanted to proceed.

When did you decide to compete in a beauty pageant?

That was something I decided when I was in pre-school (laughs). My mother asked me what I wanted to be for a fancy dress competition. I immediately said ‘Miss India…’ because we were watching Sushmita Sen, Aishwarya Rai, and other beauty queens reign over the world at the time.

I still have that photo of myself as Miss India. Growing up, I read this column in the Delhi Times where information about Miss Indias was shared. So the dream never faded. But, while I’ve always aspired, I never imagined I’d be able to do it because the crown is only given to one in a million people.

What was your family’s reaction when you told them you wanted to pursue this path?

They were very protective of me because I was the only girl child in the entire family. But it wasn’t something new to them. Because I’ve always excelled as a performer. I’ve always enjoyed performing on stage, whether dancing, singing, or elocution.

So it wasn’t a surprise. But, because I was studying dentistry, I was in a very academic mode, and I had gained a few kilos while looking for long hours. As a result, my diet was all over the place. My mother asked if I was sure I wanted to do this because it would require hard work and be realistic in my approach.
