CJP Founder Dipke Faced ‘Join BJP’ Threats: Parents

Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the satirical Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), has returned home to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar in Maharashtra after leading weeks of youth-led protests in New Delhi against alleged examination irregularities, including the NEET paper leak controversy. His parents have now gone public with claims that their son was threatened online shortly after he launched the party.

Parents Recall Video Threats

His father, Bhagwanrao Dipke, told reporters he came across a YouTube video around mid-May, soon after CJP’s launch, warning that Abhijeet would face trouble unless he joined the BJP. <cite index=”1-1″>The alleged message reportedly said that if he did not become a BJP member, those behind it knew where his parents lived and would “deal with them.”</cite> His mother, Anita Dipke, corroborated the account, <cite index=”2-1”>saying her son received a video threat asking him to join the BJP or risk his parents facing trouble.</cite>

Family Went Into Hiding Amid Fear

Bhagwanrao Dipke also described weeks of anxiety for the family since Abhijeet’s political entry, which he said went against his own wishes and had no precedent in their family. <cite index=”1-1″>He said the family briefly relocated to Konkan during the initial period, describing “tremendous pressure” and threats of physical harm.</cite> The parents reportedly even asked their son to delay his return from the United States, fearing possible arrest.

Despite the scare, Dipke’s homecoming was kept deliberately low-key, according to his father, who praised his son for giving up a career abroad to work on public causes tied to education reform. CJP had spearheaded nationwide protests demanding accountability over exam-related irregularities, with thousands of students participating despite reported police action, and FIRs against student protesters reportedly remain unresolved.
