Top techs come forward against police brutality and racial abuse after United States witnesses its worst civil unrest in decades. 

After an unarmed black man, George Floyd, got killed by a police officer in Minneapolis, the United States saw its worst civil unrest in decades, as protesters started showing their outrage against police brutality and racism. Major cities in the US have imposed curfews to contain the protesters; this killing has irked the common citizens as well as top tech CEOs of the country. 

CEO of Apple, Tim Cook:

Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, sent a memo to employees addressing the larger issue of racism in the present United States’ climate. Cook condemned the merciless killing and also admitted that racial injustice still exists in the country in various sectors, from the criminal justice system to disparity in educational opportunities.

CEO of Google, Sundar Pichai:

Google and YouTube put a black ribbon on its home page in the US to show their solidarity and support the movement, on Sunday. Pichai expressed his anger on Twitter and condemned the incident.

CEO of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg:

Mark Zuckerberg not only condemned the incident but also pledged $10 million to groups or institutions fighting racial inequality.

CEO of Microsoft, Satya Nadella:

Satya Nadella urged the need for tackling the issue of racism within companies and communities and also highlighted the fact that there is no place for hate and racism in the society.

CEO of Amazon, Jeff Bezos:

Jeff Bezos shared writer Shenequa Golding’s essay, which is on the difficulty in maintaining professionalism while witnessing the demise of black men and women.

Snapchat’s CEO, Evan Spigel:

The Snapchat CEO was adamant on not promoting accounts in America that are linked to people who incite racism and sighted reforms related to racism in the US.

Dara Khosrowshahi, CEO of Uber, expressed that Uber will stand by all the peaceful protesters.
