WhatsApp is expected to extend the duration of the Erase For All feature indefinitely thanks to proof in beta.

WhatsApp is reportedly working on expanding the “delete for all” feature. Another report suggests that instant messaging service Facebook (now Meta) introduces a new video playback interface for iOS devices for videos shared by Instagram, YouTube, and other similar platforms. WhatsApp’s messaging features were initially introduced in 2017. The takedown time limit for all features was set at seven minutes. And then extended to over an hour a few months later.

WABetaInfo, WhatsApp’s tracking function, reports that the runtime for the “Delete for all” part can be extended to an unspecified 4096 seconds. It was introduced in 2018. The tracker also advises that this feature is still in development and should be used cautiously until it becomes available to beta testers.

There is no information on the release schedule for this upcoming feature.

The “delete for all” function was only introduced in 2017; the quality timeout was set at seven minutes. This feature allows users to delete messages from private and group chats on WhatsApp. Once the message is deleted, it will be replaced with a notification in the chat window stating. That this message has been deleted.

WhatsApp blocked a total of 2.209 million accounts in India in September.

Another WABetaInfo report mentions that WhatsApp is getting a new interface for video playback from iOS. It allows users to pause, play full-screen videos, or close picture-in-picture windows. That is reported that some iOS beta testers on the v2.21.220.15 app have started getting this functionality. It was introduced in beta for Android devices late last month. The tracker also reports that some iOS beta testers may notice a change in how YouTube videos play on WhatsApp. These videos are automatically displayed in full-screen mode.
