CJP Meeting Called Off in Delhi Amid BJP Pressure Claims

A scheduled gathering of Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) volunteers in Naraina, Delhi, was called off on Wednesday after the party accused the ruling BJP of pressuring the venue into cancelling the booking.

Venue Backs Out at the Last Minute

CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke told reporters that the party had already confirmed the hall for its volunteer meeting, but organisers were turned away once they arrived. According to Dipke, venue staff cited outside pressure as the reason they could no longer host the event, effectively shutting the meeting down before it could begin.

Dipke said the party had gone ahead with its plans expecting the venue to honour the booking, only to be told at the door that the space was no longer available because of pressure the management was facing.

Similar Rejections at Other Locations, Party Claims

Dipke did not stop at the Naraina incident. He claimed CJP representatives approached several other venues nearby in search of an alternative space, and each one declined to host the meeting. He alleged that authorities linked to the ruling party had been leaning on venue owners across the area, making it difficult for CJP to secure any location for its volunteers.

The party has framed the episode as an attempt to stifle its ground-level organising efforts, though there has been no official response yet from BJP representatives or the venues named in the allegations regarding the claims of intimidation.

As of now, CJP has not announced a rescheduled date or an alternative venue for the volunteer meeting. The incident adds to ongoing tensions between smaller political outfits and the ruling establishment over access to public meeting spaces in the capital.
