FWICE has written to Union Minister Anurag Thakur to inform him that Sajid Khan has served a one-year ban for sexual misconduct allegations against him during the 2018 Me Too movement. In the letter, the union urged Sajid to be allowed to work immediately.

In response to criticism of Sajid Khan’s participation in Salman Khan’s reality show Bigg Boss 16. The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has written to Minister of Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur in his support.

According to the letter, Sajid was banned for a year and has completed his sentence.

FWICE’s letter was in response to Swati Maliwal, the chief of the Delhi Commission of Women. Who had urged Anurag to remove Sajid from Bigg Boss 16, citing several allegations of sexual misconduct against him.

In the letter, FWICE stated that the Indian Film also Television Directors Association (IFTDA) had received the complaints against Sajid and had proposed a one-year ban on him. After an investigation by the IFTDA’s POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) committee, FWICE agreed and imposed the Ban. “During this action initiated by the IFTDA and the FWICE, Sajid Khan was issue the FWICE non-cooperation. He was ban from working in the Film Industry for one year,” it continued.

Sajid Khan had cooperated with the IFTDA and FWICE and had followed the POSH Committee’s decision.

The FWICE was satisfy with his behavior during his Ban. And after one year, the BAN on Shri Sajid Khan was lift by the FWICE on March 14, 2019. Sajid Khan has now joined the BIGG BOSS to make a living.”

“He has also been through the POSH committee’s difficult trials and a lot of humiliation on social media and other public platforms during those trying days. A person who has already served his sentence also complied with the decisions of the IFTDA. Also the FWICE cannot be try and punished for the same offense again.

Sajid’s appearance on the show has elicited strong reactions from various sources. The show’s producers and host Salman Khan have come under fire for giving a platform to a man accused of sexual misconduct by nine women.
