In the clip, Suryakumar is seen sprinting and batting for hours, with the player himself noting in his caption that he faced roughly a thousand deliveries over a three-hour stretch and came away feeling good about his effort.

From World Cup Hero to Squad Outsider

Suryakumar’s fall from the side is a striking turnaround given his standing just months ago. He captained India to glory at the T20 World Cup 2026 in March, but a slump in form across the IPL and international fixtures that followed cost him his place in the squad shortly after that triumph.

Even so, Suryakumar hasn’t been written off entirely. A BCCI source indicated that while he isn’t part of current selection plans, consistent scoring in domestic cricket could pave the way for a recall, since the selectors have not closed the book on his international career.
