Varun Dhawan, Pooja Hegde, and Mrunal Thakur’s romantic comedy Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai has crossed a significant milestone, surpassing Rs 60 crore in worldwide gross by its ninth day in cinemas. Directed by David Dhawan and released on June 5, 2026, the film continues to hold steady despite receiving mixed reviews from audiences and critics alike.

Day 9 Sees Encouraging Bounce Back

On its ninth day, the film recorded a notable 21.6% jump in earnings compared to the previous day, collecting Rs 2.25 crore net across 2,939 screens in India. This brought the total India net collection to Rs 40.95 crore, with the India gross estimated at Rs 48.63 crore. An additional Rs 75 lakh from overseas markets on the same day pushed the total worldwide gross to Rs 61.73 crore, reflecting sustained audience interest into the second week.

Tough Competition in Week Two

The film’s second week presents a more challenging landscape, with fresh releases entering the fray. Kangana Ranaut’s Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata, Imtiaz Ali’s partition drama Main Vaapas Aaunga, and Manoj Bajpayee’s Governor: The Silent Saviour are all vying for screen space and audience attention. In its opening week, the film had already navigated competition from Anurag Kashyap’s Bandar, Peddi, and Hollywood’s He-Man and the Masters of the Universe.

Backed by a strong ensemble cast including Jimmy Shergill, Mouni Roy, Chunky Pandey, and Maniesh Paul, the film is steadily building on its numbers and eyeing further milestones in the days ahead.
