Teen Artist Max Budgen Breaks World Record with 1,300-Page Hand-Drawn Flip Book

Hampshire, UK: At just 17 years old, Max Budgen from Hampshire has achieved something extraordinary—he has broken a world record by creating the longest hand-drawn flip book, with an incredible 1,300 pages of original artwork.

A student and passionate artist, Max has long enjoyed crafting flip books—those small animated books that come to life when flipped through quickly. But what started as a fun hobby has now earned him a place in the record books.

A Record-Breaking Challenge

Setting a world record is never easy, and for Max, this one was a test of both creativity and perseverance. He took on the challenge of drawing each page by hand over the course of more than three weeks. Whether at home, in school, or even on public transport like trains, Max found time and space to continue drawing.

“By the time I got to page 500, I was getting bored and running out of ideas,” Max admitted. “But I reminded myself that world records aren’t supposed to be easy, so I kept going.”

Pushing Boundaries, Page by Page

Max didn’t just power through the task—he celebrated the small wins along the way. Reaching new milestones gave him the motivation to keep going.

“I had never made more than 300 pages before, so passing that felt great,” he said. “Reaching page 1,000 was an amazing feeling. I didn’t think I’d make it that far.”

Each page took time, care, and imagination. Max poured hours of work into the project each day, staying focused on the bigger picture even when the task seemed repetitive or tiring. His dedication and self-discipline played a big role in turning his goal into a reality.

A Message to Other Young Dreamers

Now that he holds the world record, Max hopes his achievement will inspire other young people to go after their own big dreams.

“If you want to set a world record before becoming an adult, you need to be determined,” he shared. “Sticking with it is really important. Also, having a sense of humor helps, especially when things don’t go as planned.”

His advice is simple but powerful—persistence and positivity can carry you through even the most challenging goals.

More Than Just a Flip Book

Max’s 1,300-page flip book is not only a piece of art; it’s a symbol of resilience, imagination, and youthful ambition. Each turn of the page represents the effort and passion that Max poured into the project. His story has captured attention around the world, with many praising his determination and creativity.

Now officially recognized in the record books, Max Budgen’s flip book is flipping its way into history—one hand-drawn page at a time. And for Max, this is just the beginning.
