Gujarat: Sanjay Baria (37) allegedly murdered his son Vansh and left his body in the utility room of a traffic chowky, an officer said.
Gruesome Incident in Navsari
In a shocking incident, a traffic brigade jawan in Navsari city, Gujarat, has been accused of poisoning, strangling his 10-year-old son, and then dumping the body in a utility room at his workplace.
The accused, identified as Sanjay Baria (37), allegedly killed his son, Vansh, and abandoned the body in a traffic chowky, as confirmed by Superintendent of Police (Navsari) Sushil Agrawal.
Incident Details
According to police reports, Baria called his wife around 3:40 PM on Saturday to inform her about their son’s death. Following this call, Baria has gone missing, prompting the police to form teams to apprehend him.

Baria, who was part of the traffic brigade assisting the traffic police, took his son to work on Friday afternoon. When his wife, Rekha, tried to contact him later that day, she found his phone switched off.

The complaint detailed how Baria’s motorcycle was later discovered abandoned in the city, with no sign of either Baria or their son.
The turning point came on Saturday afternoon when Baria called his wife, revealing that their son’s body was in the utility room of the traffic chowky.
Upon investigation, police found Vansh’s body with foam around his mouth and a nylon rope tied around his neck, indicating he had been poisoned and strangled.
Legal Proceedings
The police have registered a case under section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code. SP Sushil Agrawal confirmed that multiple teams are actively working to locate and arrest Sanjay Baria.
