Ratan Tata receives the state’s highest civilian award from Assam’s chief minister in Mumbai

Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma bestowed the ‘Assam Baibhav,’ the state’s highest civilian award, on industrialist Ratan Tata today in Mumbai.

On Wednesday, Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma bestowed the ‘Assam Baibhav. The state’s highest civilian award, on eminent industrialist and Tata Trust Chairman Ratan Naval Tata in Mumbai. As an industrialist also philanthropist, Ratan Tata has made significant contributions to cancer care in Assam.

The “Assam Baibhav” Award comes with a citation, a medal, and Rs 5 lakh in cash.

Due to personal obligations, Ratan could not attend the official ceremony honoring 18 other distinguished individuals held on January 24 at Srimanta Sankaradev Kalakshetra in Guwahati.

Instead of that, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma personally presented him with his Assam Baibhav award at a function held at the Taj Wellington Mews in Koloba.

Previously, Ratan Tata wrote to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, saying. I greatly appreciate and am deeply touched by the Government of Assam’s decision to bestow the Assam on me. Baibhav award for the year 2021.”

“I have long admired your dedication to the well-being of the Assamese people. Also it is an extraordinary honor to accept this award from you. Thank you for version my inability to personally accept the award at the function on January 24 in Guwahati also for your willingness to present it to me.
