India vs. South Africa: Sanju Samson scores a goal

India vs. South Africa : As the Indian team prepared to depart for the T20 World Cup in Australia, some players who did not board the flight to Australia were allowed to prove their worth in the ODI series against South Africa. Sanju Samson is one player who would have been disappointed if he had not been selected for the T20 World Cup. While the ODI series against the Proteas on the eve of a T20 World Cup may seem insignificant to many, it was a huge opportunity for someone like Samson to prove his worth. And he confirmed it on Thursday.

India vs. South Africa : Sanju Samson hit an unbeaten 86(63), while Shreyas Iyer hit a 37-ball 50 as India fell short by nine runs to South Africa in the first One-Day International in Lucknow. On 3, Kagiso Rabada dispatched Shubman Gill. Wayne Parnell replaced Shikhar Dhawan on four after his dismissal.

Ruturaj Gaikwad struggled to get started and was out after 42 balls.

On the 20th, Ishan Kishan was fired. However, after the initial blows, Iyer and Samson took command. It was Iyer who led India’s fightback before handing over to Lungi Ngidi. Samson then took over and formed an important partnership with Shardul Thakur, who contributed a crucial 31-ball 33.

Lungi Ngidi, however, struck twice in the 38th over to turn the tide in South Africa’s favor. Half-centuries from David Miller and Heinrich Klaasen earlier in the day helped South Africa reach 249/4. Klaasen finished the innings unbeaten on 74 off 65 balls, while Miller was unbeaten on 75 off 63 balls.

Score updates for the first ODI between India and South Africa: SA triumphs by nine runs.

Tabraiz Shamsi’s final over yields 20 runs, bringing India to 240/8 in response to South Africa’s 249/4.

Samson finishes unbeaten on 86 from 63 balls. His knock consists of nine fours and three sixes.
