Gujarat ATS Nets ₹230 Crore Worth of Mephedrone in Gujarat

In a collaborative effort between the Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) and the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), a major mephedrone manufacturing operation was dismantled with the arrest of 13 individuals spanning Gujarat and Rajasthan.

Key Details of the Raid and Suspects:

Acting on intelligence received by the ATS, raids were conducted, leading to the apprehension of suspects Manoharlal Enani and Kuldeepsinh Rajpurohit.

A significant haul of 22.028 kilograms of mephedrone and 124 kilograms of liquid mephedrone, valued at ₹230 crore, was recovered during the operation.

Locations and Investigation Progress by Gujarat ATS:

The operation unveiled manufacturing units in Sirohi and Jodhpur, Rajasthan, as well as in Piplaj village (Gandhinagar) and the Bhaktinagar industrial area (Amreli district), Gujarat.

Further investigation revealed Enani’s previous involvement in mephedrone production, stemming from his arrest in 2015.

Impact on Drug Trade and Ongoing Investigations by NCB:

Authorities uncovered a network sourcing raw materials from a company in the Vapi industrial area (Valsad district).

Investigations aim to ascertain the extent of drug production, past sales, and additional individuals involved in the operation.

Recoveries of mephedrone, ephedrine, and acetone from multiple locations underscore the scale of the illicit enterprise.
