Key Points:
- The 11th generation Honda Civic looks comes with new look more sleeker and sportier from the outside. Updates cabin too.
- The Honda Civic 2022 prototype is also based on 19-inch black wheels that complement the sedan’s Solar Flare Pearl body colour.
Honda Civic 2022 has been officially unveiled in the form of a prototype and now boasts a lot of exterior design updates, cabin updates, technology enhancements, and a variety of safety features that all combine to ensure that a sedan that has been out on global roads for almost 50 years looks as young as ever and is still ready to challenge rival sedans and new-age SUVs.
Although the model seen recently is a concept, Honda has said that most of the highlights will eventually make way for the production car scheduled for next year’s launch. With a more emphatic grille and sleeker LED headlights, the Honda Civic has a brand new front design on the outside in its 11th generation.
Although the sedan appears to sit very low to the ground for a sporty visual look, the side profile sports dashes of character lines. There have also been major improvements to the rear profile of the car and it now appears to be wider than before and gets a bigger pair of LED taillights, a new bumper, and a revised dual exhaust tip.
The Honda Civic 2022 prototype is also based on 19-inch black wheels that complement the sedan’s Solar Flare Pearl body color.
However, when it comes to ensuring that the cabin gets much of the focus, the Japanese carmaker has burnt the midnight oil. The Civic 2022 provides a dash style that emphasizes a horizontal layout while retaining a clean profile as a priority.
Between the touchscreen – which is now at nine inches instead of seven – and the rotating dials for air conditioning, there is a slight splash of honeycomb accent as large cup holders appear and what could be a storage area for phones on the center console. Assume the instrument cluster in the production version of the car to be entirely digital.
Honda has reported that once it reaches production lines, the new generation Civic will be offered in sedan and hatchback body styles. And while there is no news yet on an Indian launch, considering the growing popularity of SUVs, the car does seem to make a solid case for itself.
