No India-Iran Chabahar Railway deal occurred.

Iran quashed the rumours after reports had emerged that Iran dropped India from the Chabahar Railway Project.

On Wednesday, Iran rejected an Indian newspaper report which stated that Iran had dropped India from the Chabahar Railway Project after it signed a 25-year deal with China for a whopping $400 billion.

No link between Iran and India on the Chabahar railway project says port’s deputy Farhad Montaser:

Iran refuted the report claiming India’s dropping from the Chahbahar-Zahedan railway project. On Wednesday, Iran’s Ports and Maritime Organization’s deputies, Farhad Montaser revealed that the story was false. Montaser said,” The report is totally false because Iran has not linked any deal with India regarding the Chabahar-Zahedan railway project,” a report in Al Jazeera claimed.

Farhad Montaser says Iran-India have an agreement on only two projects:

Farhad Montaser further revealed that only two deals between the Asian countries were signed and these have nothing to do with the railway project construction and all those rumours of India’s delay in funding and construction stand false. An Iran news agency quoted Montaser who said,” Iran has only signed two agreements with Indians for investment in Chabahar: one is related to the port’s machinery and equipment, and the second is related to India’s investment to the tune of $150 million”. Montaser quashed the rumours and concluded by saying that,” sanctions have nothing to do to Iran-India’s cooperation in Chabahar.”

Congress’ questioning of diplomatic failure stands rescinded:

The latest report will cost Congress’ reputation as back when the report emerged many party workers and spokesperson said that it was a big loss for the country and PM Modi must address the matter and reveal why they failed in this diplomatic deal.
