PM Modi sends greeting on World Sanskrit Day

On the occasion of World Sanskrit Day on Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed people and invited them to share a statement in the ancient language to commemorate its beauty.

PM Modi greeting on World Sanskrit Day:

“Happy World Sanskrit Day!” I applaud everyone passionate about it. India has a unique relationship with Sanskrit. “I urge you all to share one sentence in Sanskrit to celebrate this great language,” he stated on X.

In a subsequent post in Sanskrit, he discussed how India would host the G20 Summit in the coming days and how people from all over the world would come to learn about its rich culture.

History of the Big Day:

The celebration of World Sanskrit Day and Sanskrit Diwas was declared by the Indian government in 1969. The day was supposed to be a tribute to the work and legacy of the eminent Sanskrit scholar Panini.

As a result, the Sanskrit Diwas is celebrated on the birth anniversary of Panini, whose contribution to the evolution of the language is immense and unparalleled.

Why we should celebrate Sanskrit Day:

The day’s celebration aims to raise awareness and promote the Sanskrit language. Aside from that, the ceremonies commemorate the sanctity and divinity of the language, which is also known as the Dev Vani (language of the Gods).

Sanskrit was also utilised to compose important Hindu scriptures such as the Vedas, Upanishads, and Bhagavad Gita. Many believe Lord Brahma created and passed on Sanskrit to the Rishis.
