PM Narendra Modi boarded the Delhi metro to attend the centenary festivities of Delhi University on Friday.

He also posted images of his flight on Twitter, expressing his joy at having young people as fellow passengers. He also spoke about the experience while addressing the crowd during the event.

The Bharatiya Janata Party’s Twitter account also uploaded a video of PM Narendra Modi entering the metro premises using smart cards amid strict security.

He boarded a yellow line metro train bound for Samaypur Badli station. Vishwavidyalaya metro station is a midway stop on that route and the nearest station to the DU campus area.

Initially shown in the video boarding an empty metro compartment, the PM later posted images of his interactions with other passengers. “Taking the Delhi Metro to the DU programme.” “I’m glad to have kids as co-passengers,” he tweeted, along with the photographs.

PM Modi congratulated the prestigious central institution on its 100th anniversary on Thursday, writing on Twitter, “Looking forward to joining the University of Delhi’s centenary celebrations at 11 AM tomorrow, June 30.”

DU has been developing talent and encouraging intellectual growth as a prominent learning centre for a century. Congratulations to the DU fraternity on this historic achievement.”

He will lay the foundation stone for the Delhi University Computer Centre and the Faculty of Technology building during his visit. The PM will also lay the foundation for an academic building on the university’s North Campus.

The University of Delhi was founded on May 1, 1922, and has since grown to include 86 departments, 90 colleges, and over 6 lakh students.
