Yash Explains Why He Co-Produced Ramayana With Namit Malhotra

Actor Yash has revealed what convinced him to join Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana as a co-producer. The mythological drama is one of the most anticipated releases of 2026. Speaking at the film’s pre-launch event in Hyderabad, the KGF star said producer Namit Malhotra’s vision for the project was the deciding factor.

A Shared Vision for Indian Cinema

Yash’s Monster Mind Creations is co-producing the film with Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios. As reported by IANS, Yash recalled conversations with Malhotra in Los Angeles about the future of Indian cinema. Malhotra, he said, wants the industry to reach a global stature and will feel satisfied only when that day arrives.

Inspired by that ambition, Yash urged all Indian film industries to come together. He said they should present the country’s culture and stories to audiences around the world.

The film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash in the lead roles. Its scale and its cast of well-known names have kept it in the spotlight for months.

Strong Advance Bookings Ahead of Release

Ramayana has already made an impact at the ticket window. Advance bookings have collected Rs 5.46 crore, with 92,872 tickets sold across 3,470 shows. Trade watchers see this as a healthy start for a film that will be released in two parts.

The first part arrives in theatres on November 5, 2026, and the second part follows next year. Separately, Malhotra has said the film belongs to every Indian. JioHotstar has also announced a pay-per-view release, which will widen access beyond theatres.

With its ensemble cast, a large-scale production and a producer-backed push for global recognition, Ramayana is positioned as a landmark for Indian cinema. Audiences will soon find out whether it lives up to that promise.
