Pushpa review: Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna’s best movie

If Telugu filmmakers have accomplished anything over the years, it’s the talent for nailing the masala cinema formula. No matter how predictable they get, most Telugu films continue to appeal to the audience due to the mainstream treatment, and Allu Arjun’s Pushpa: The Rise is no exception.
Sukumar’s film is mainly fascinating, and it recounts the growth of the film’s lead, Pushparaj, aka Pushpa, amid the backdrop of red sandalwood smuggling. Allu Arjun impresses in the role and makes it one of the most memorable in recent years.
Pushpa grows up without a father because he lives with his mother. He’s ashamed for being a youngster without a family name, and years of humiliation have left him damaged, and he longs to forge his own identity.
He volunteers to be a part of the red sandalwood smuggling group for better income after working menial jobs for a pittance. He gradually gets his employers’ trust and quickly rises through the ranks to become their go-to person.
The road to the awning is not without its challenges, but Pushpa is the type of guy who gets what he wants. As he gradually gains control of the firm, arousing the fury of a few. He meets Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat, played by the inimitable Fahadh Faasil.
All hell breaks loose at this point.
Pushpa, while being three hours lengthy, manages to keep the audience engaged for the most part and never makes sitting through the film tiresome. It’s a character-driven drama, and Sukumar deserves credit for skillfully building Pushpa’s character. Whose growth couldn’t have been handled more satisfyingly.
The only minor flaw in the screenplay is that the hero, who is supposes to win in the end. Has no stakes in the game and nothing to lose, making him invincible and the film’s various villains powerless.
Pushpa review Even the presence of Fahadh Faasil, who will reportedly have a more significant role in the sequel. Fails to make the type of impression that most would have expected. Despite the audience-pleasing confrontation scenes between Allu Arjun and Fahadh Faasil, the film’s conclusion is a little unsatisfying.
Pushpa is entirely Allu Arjun’s show, and he plays a critical role in making the picture function to a significant extent. Be it the Telugu dialect, his character’s mannerisms and body language, or the one-sided drooping shoulder. He appears to have championed every aspect of the surface to make it a unique and immensely amusing performance. The other main characters, on the other hand, are poorly written.
Rashmika Mandanna’s forgettable nature makes it difficult for her to impress. The final confrontation between Allu Arjun and Fahadh Faasil is a plotline that I wish developed much sooner. We get two men who are consumed by the need to fight over who is more powerful, but I’m holding out on betting on the second part.
