“We have recovered the bodies of six pilgrims and a pilot,” said C Ravi Shankar, CEO of the Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority.

According to preliminary findings, the crash was caused by bad weather and poor visibility.

“The precise cause of the accident will be determined after a thorough investigation,” Mr. Shankar said.

According to aviation regulator sources, the helicopter made a loud noise before catching fire near Garud Chatti. According to NDTV, “a Bell 407 helicopter VT-RPN belonging to Delhi-based Aryan Aviation crashed on the way from Kedarnath to Guptkashi, possibly due to cloudy weather.”

Images from the scene revealed a massive plume of smoke. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF). Also the district police are conducting a joint search and rescue operation at the accident site.

Pushkar Singh Dhami, the state’s chief minister, has ordered a thorough investigation into the crash.

Jyotiraditya Scindia, Civil Aviation Minister, expressed his sadness over the incident also stated they are in constant contact with the state government.

President Draupadi Murmu also Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed their condolences for the deaths of pilgrims and the pilot in the helicopter crash.
