Coronavirus recoveries exceed the number of active
cases for the first time, India’s tally at 276,583.
On Wednesday, Union Home
Minister Amit Shah and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind
Kejriwal met to
discuss the grim Covid-19 situation in Delhi as the total number of Coronavirus cases
breached the 32000 mark. Arvind Kejriwal revealed that they had a positive
meeting and that Home Minister Shah assured him of complete support and cooperation
in the battle against coronavirus.
Kejriwal says this is not the
time for arguments:
L-G Bajaj issued two orders on Monday, that struck down key announcements by the Delhi government in the last week – to limit the scope of Covid-19 testing and to reserve private beds in private and Delhi government hospitals for residents of Delhi. On Wednesday, Chief Minister of the national capital, Arvind Kejriwal said that Bajaj’s directives will be followed and implemented as this is not the time for arguments or disagreements.
India reports more recoveries
than the active cases for the first time:
As per the Union Health
Ministry’s data, India on Wednesday, reported 9985 Covid-19 positive cases with
279 causalities in the last 24 hours, taking the nation’s coronavirus tally to 278,583 including 7745 deaths.
However, for the first time, the number of recovered
patients exceeded
the number of active positive patients. The tally of recovered patients stood
at 135,205, which is 1573 cases more than the active patients’ total of
133,632. This is a positive sign for the country which is witnessing over 9000
cases since the last 7 days.
Delhi registers 1500 cases:
In the last 24 hours, Delhi
reported 1501 Covid-19 infections and 48 deaths which took the state’s tally to
32,810. Maharashtra’s tally rose to 94,041 with 3254 new infections.
Global coronavirus total
reached over 7.04 million with more than 404,000 deaths.
