Satirical Movement Leader to Return for Delhi Protest

Abhijeet Dipke, the founder of the youth-driven social media movement Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), has announced his return to India on Saturday, June 6. Dipke intends to launch a peaceful protest in the national capital to demand the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The agitation stems from a series of massive examination-related lapses that have impacted millions of students nationwide.

In an Instagram video, Dipke urged students and supporters to assemble at the Delhi airport upon his arrival. He outlined plans to march to the Parliament Street police station to formally request permission for a peaceful demonstration at the historic Jantar Mantar protest site.

Demanding Accountability for Students

According to Dipke, systemic controversies surrounding critical national examinations—including NEET, CBSE, and CUET—have caused widespread anxiety among the youth. He alleged that the future of over one crore students has been thrown into jeopardy due to institutional failures.

Despite concerns raised by his family regarding a potential arrest at the airport, Dipke expressed strong faith in India’s democratic framework. He emphasized that the protest will adhere strictly to constitutional boundaries, drawing inspiration from iconic figures like Mahatma Gandhi and B.R. Ambedkar to demand accountability from the government.

Origins of the Masquerading Movement

The Cockroach Janta Party emerged on May 16 as a satirical online campaign following a controversial observation by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant. During a Supreme Court hearing, the Chief Justice used an analogy comparing certain unemployed youth turning to activism and social media to “cockroaches.”

Although the CJI later clarified that his remarks were strictly directed at individuals operating with fraudulent degrees, the phrase was quickly co-opted by Dipke. The movement rapidly transformed from a viral internet meme into a powerful platform highlighting serious issues of youth unemployment and educational systemic failures.
