Kangana Ranaut Was Partying During 26/11 When Mahesh Bhatt Broke the News

Actress and politician Kangana Ranaut has shared a vivid personal memory from the night of November 26, 2008 — the evening Pakistani militants carried out the devastating terror attacks across Mumbai. Speaking at the trailer launch of her upcoming film Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata, Kangana revealed she was completely unaware of the unfolding crisis until filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt personally informed her and a group of friends.

A Night of Celebration Turned Grim

Kangana recounted that she and several colleagues from Vishesh Films, including writer Shagufta and actress Shahana Goswami, had gathered at Shahana’s home on Yari Road for a party. The group — roughly 20 to 25 young industry aspirants — were dancing and celebrating when Bhatt arrived and asked them to turn on the television. It was only then that they learned terrorists had launched coordinated attacks across the city. Bhatt advised everyone to stay put rather than venture out into the dangerous streets.

The Night That Shook Mumbai

The 26/11 attacks remain one of the most traumatic events in India’s recent history. A group of Pakistani militants entered Mumbai via the Arabian Sea and launched simultaneous strikes on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, two prominent luxury hotels, and a Jewish cultural centre. The attacks claimed 166 lives and shook the nation to its core.
